Michael W. Rencheck
Chief Executive Officer AREVA Inc.
As of June 1, 2014, Mr. Rencheck will become deputy to the chief operating officer for AREVA’s global operations in charge of the performance of major projects.
Mike Rencheck was appointed the president and chief executive officer of AREVA Inc. North America in March 2012. In January 2010, Mike was named the Chief Operating Officer of AREVA Inc., as part of AREVA’s new global structure.
Mike came to AREVA in January 2009 as the President and CEO, AREVA NP Inc. He successfully led the turnaround of AREVA NP Inc., improving performance, achieving profitability, and establishing sustainable growth. AREVA NP Inc. was AREVA’s largest North American business unit, with annual revenues of more than $1.3 Billion.
Prior to AREVA, Mike was the Senior Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer of the Nuclear Generation Group at American Electric Power.
After joining AEP in 1998 as VP of Nuclear Engineering, Mike held various positions during his tenure, including Senior VP of Engineering, Projects and Field Services; Senior VP of Engineering, Technical and Environmental Services; and President of AEP ProServ, a wholly-owned engineering and field services subsidiary responsible for major power generation projects and outage management
Prior to joining AEP, Mike worked for Florida Power Corporation serving as Director, Nuclear Engineering and Projects for Crystal River Nuclear Station. Earlier in his career, Mike worked at Public Service Electric & Gas Company Salem Nuclear Generating Station as Director of Engineering and Duquesne Light Company’s Beaver Valley Power Station.
Mike earned a bachelor’s degree from Ohio Northern University in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in management and computer information systems from Robert Morris University in Coraopolis, PA. He is a Professional Engineer in eight states, including Virginia, and a Certified Senior Reactor Operator.
