AREVA has designated nearly 170 U.S. and Canadian manufacturers and service providers as “AREVA Certified Suppliers” to recognize the value of, and strengthen ties to, the partners that support the company’s growth.
The certifications were presented by AREVA CEO Anne Lauvergeon to company representatives at a ceremony held today in Washington, D.C. This year, AREVA will identify several hundred suppliers from North America and across the world as companies that merit this special recognition.
To become an “AREVA Certified Supplier,” companies must meet a range of demanding criteria based on quality, sustainable development values and competitiveness. Other decisive criteria include investment in innovation, attention to nuclear and occupational safety, and protection of the environment.
AREVA understands how essential its partners are in developing its activities and in turn wants to help its partners grow. This initiative supports that objective.
“One of the keys to AREVA’s success is the result of trusting, long-term relationships with our partners, which is why we wish to thank and recognize them as ‘AREVA Certified Suppliers,’” Lauvergeon said following the ceremony.
In 2008, AREVA purchased nearly $1.5 billion in goods and services from North American suppliers, helping to ensure thousands of jobs among these companies. Together with investments in major infrastructure projects, these purchases are helping AREVA develop CO2-free energy products and services made in America.
