AREVA’s Fuel Manufacturing Facility Concludes Successful NRC Review

BETHESDA, Md., April 25, 2012 – The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) concluded their public meeting of the recently completed review the Licensee Performance Review of AREVA’s Fuel Manufacturing Facility in Richland, Washington.

During the meeting, NRC management discussed the facility’s performance and did not identify any specific areas needing improvement. The Richland Site Manager Dominique Grandemange presented information regarding the site’s performance from the past 16 months.

“We are pleased with the outcome of this period’s important regulatory review with no areas cited as needing improvement. This is a testament to the employees who ensure safety is a priority and tasks are performed according to their standard operating procedures every day,” stated Michael Rencheck, chief executive officer of AREVA Inc. “Safety and quality are AREVA’s cornerstones for performance excellence.”
