AREVA Lends Support to Help Neighbors in Need

Press Release

LYNCHBURG, Va., July 3, 2012 – AREVA has partnered with Appalachian Power and the Historic Virginia Chapter of the American Red Cross to distribute much needed bags of ice to residents throughout the Lynchburg community.

A truck loaded with 4,000 bags of ice was stationed at the AREVA facility at 155 Mill Ridge Road and served as the primary distribution center. Volunteers then distributed bags of ice to area residents in various communities and housing developments throughout Lynchburg.

“AREVA facilities and employees were impacted by the recent storm just like the rest of greater Lynchburg. We have reached out not only to aid our employees, but to try and help our neighbors in the community as well,” said Mike Rencheck, chief executive office of AREVA, Inc. “This is a time when everyone needs to band together and lend a helping hand. We are proud to work with the Historic Virginia Chapter of the American Red Cross and Appalachian Power to hopefully provide some relief.”
