AREVA Announces New Executive to Lead Front End Business Group in North America

BETHESDA, Md., December 7, 2012 – AREVA Inc. today announced the appointment of Paul Myers as the new senior vice president of the Front End Business Group for North America, effective January 1, 2013.

In his new role, Myers will be responsible for the operations and activities for the Front End Business Group, which includes the Fuel Business Unit and the Chemistry & Enrichment activities of the Business Group. In this role, he will report to Michael Rencheck, President and CEO of AREVA, Inc. and he will be a member of the U.S. Executive Committee.

“Paul brings a wealth of experience that will contribute to the success of our business,” said Rencheck. “His in-depth knowledge of engineering and the history of the U.S. nuclear industry, coupled with his work with the global Engineering & Projects group, uniquely position him to drive the innovation needed to develop fuel offerings and cross-over technologies to grow our businesses. We are happy to welcome Paul back to the North American leadership team in a larger and more comprehensive role.”

Myers has been on an international assignment as the Senior Vice President of AREVA's worldwide Engineering & Projects design engineering organization, responsible for providing the engineering support of AREVA's four nuclear business groups' projects.

Myers has more than 30 years of experience in nuclear plant design and engineering, services and new nuclear development, as well as seven years in the U.S. Navy operating nuclear submarines. Since joining AREVA in 1981, Myers has held a series of management positions with increasing responsibility, from project management to business development and across the fuel cycle. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with an Aerospace Engineering degree, and also has a Master’s degree in Business Management.
