Press Release

February 01, 2013

LYNCHBURG, Va., Feb. 1, 2013 – AREVA’s latest investment in innovative thinking recently honored 50 employees with awards totaling more than $200,000. As part of the company’s 2012 North American Innovation Awards program, employee teams independently developed and proposed new solutions, products and services to meet the business needs of AREVA’s nuclear industry customers.

“Our employees take bold measures to help our customers continue on a journey of excellence,” said Mike Rencheck, CEO, AREVA Inc. “The Innovation Awards recognize our employees for their creativity, ingenuity and dedication to help build a better tomorrow for our communities, customers and company.”

In 2011, AREVA launched an internal Business Incubator Program to systematically cultivate and invest in employees’ ideas that deliver a positive, lasting impact to the community, industry or company. This program culminates each year with the Innovation Awards.

“The Innovation Awards and Business Incubator Program inspire our employees to develop and deploy innovative solutions that meet customer needs,” said Andy Cook, Senior Vice President of Operational Excellence & Innovation, AREVA Inc. “The award recipients are integral to our company’s success, and I congratulate them on their significant contributions.”

AREVA’s continued investment in its culture of innovation helps our customers achieve safe, reliable and economical operations, and thereby enables the industry to advance America’s clean energy future with safer, cleaner and more efficient energy production.

Recognition of AREVA’s innovation successes also came with the 2012 Best-of-the-Best Top Industry Practice award from the Nuclear Energy Institute for the third consecutive year, and seven finalist nominations in multiple categories for the 2012 Platts Global Energy awards.
