AREVA Opens a New Office in Arizona

BETHESDA, Md., Feb. 13, 2013 – AREVA announced today that it has opened a new office in Goodyear, Ariz., focused on providing on-site service to the STARS Alliance.

“AREVA seeks to build frank and constructive relationships with all stakeholders,” stated Mike Rencheck, president and chief executive officer, AREVA Inc. “We cultivate a spirit of partnership based on mutual responsibility, receptiveness and dialog. This STARS office expands our involvement in every one of the communities in which we do business.”

The STARS Alliance is a consortium of seven nuclear power stations in five states, working collaboratively to leverage their common strengths and similarities to drive operational, regulatory and financial excellence. Member stations include Callaway Energy Center (Missouri), Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant (Texas), Diablo Canyon Power Plant (California), Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (Arizona), San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (California), South Texas Nuclear Operating Company (Texas) and Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (Kansas).

AREVA has supported each individual member of the STARS Alliance, providing equipment and services necessary for the safe and economical operation, maintenance and improvement of their reactors. The Arizona office reinforces AREVA’s commitment to Alliance members and supports the Alliance as a whole. AREVA’s goal is to help the Alliance achieve economies of scale, promote consistency and implement operational excellence in safety, quality, performance and delivery for all customers.
