IZOD IndyCar Driver Simona De Silvestro Meeting with the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana

CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 17, 2013 — IZOD IndyCar driver Simona De Silvestro and her No. 78 Nuclear Clean Air Energy car will be meeting with the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., after the Indy500 Pole Day Qualifying race.

As a passionate advocate for clean energy and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education off the track, KV Racing’s Simona De Silvestro will be helping to raise awareness of the importance of clean energy and the link between racing and engineering.

The event is jointly organized by AREVA Inc., a leader in solutions for low-carbon power generation, and the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana. Together, these groups will encourage Girl Scouts to take an interest in STEM subjects and to learn about science and technology career options.

This is the first time Simona has met with the local Girl Scouts, and she is due to compete at the Indy500 in Indianapolis, Ind., the following weekend.
