Corporate Citizenship Report

AREVA employees complete nearly 6,000 hours of community service and help raise more than $800,000 in 2012.

CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 11, 2013 – AREVA today released its 2012 Corporate Citizenship Report, which noted that AREVA’s North American employees and business groups donated more than $800,000 and nearly 6,000 volunteer hours in 2012.

The Corporate Citizenship Report is an annual review of the company’s corporate outreach and giving activities across all business groups. It provides an overview of the many contributions made by AREVA’s powerful force of caring and generous employees. It also demonstrates how the company’s forward-looking energy vision makes positive differences in the communities where it does business.

“We firmly believe that AREVA’s continued business success is grounded in the success of the communities where our employees live and work,” said AREVA CEO Mike Rencheck. “Our 5,000 US employees donated considerable amounts of time and money by living out AREVA’s value of community partnerships, both in times of crisis, and in support of STEM education that will cultivate tomorrow’s clean energy leaders. It’s just as important to us to be a leader in community and social responsibility as it is to be a market leader in our industry.”

Through its Corporate Giving Strategy, the company encourages all employees and business groups to demonstrate active caring with the ultimate goal of increasing community vitality and sustainable growth of the business. In 2012, contributions of time, talent and money resulted in positive energy that made a real difference to a wide variety of local and national, non-profit organizations across North America. The largest percentage of contributions was dedicated to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education sponsorships and outreach.

“Our clean energy present and future depends on a robust, talented pool of highly skilled engineers, technicians and craft labor,” said Sharon Elliott, AREVA VP of Human Resources. “AREVA puts a priority on investing in the technical workforce and STEM education programs to support the vital growth of the U.S. energy economy, while developing the next generation of industry and community leaders.”
