Local AREVA Employees Exceed Charitable Giving Goal

LYNCHBURG Va. October 28, 2013 - AREVA today announced that employees in Lynchburg, Va., raised $222,000 as part of the company’s annual Directed Giving Campaign, exceeding their original goal of $215,000. The donations from this campaign were contributed to a variety of local organizations and charities.
“Our employees’ giving spirit and community support embody our commitment to social responsibility and being a good neighbor,” said Mike Rencheck, president and chief executive officer of AREVA Inc. “A thriving Lynchburg community is a good foundation for a thriving business, and charitable outreach is one way that we put ‘forward-looking energy’ into practice.”
AREVA encourages and supports charitable giving to help foster the well-being of the communities in which employees live and work. This year’s success in Lynchburg is the result of an employee-driven campaign powered by peer-to-peer interaction, reflecting the company’s culture of encouraging leadership at every level in the organization.

In addition, employees volunteer thousands of hours in support of educational, civic, cultural, environmental and human services in their communities.
