AREVA Inc. Celebrates National Engineers Week by Honoring Its Employees

Press Release

February 19, 2014

CHARLOTTE, N.C., February 19, 2014 – In celebration of National Engineers Week, AREVA Inc. is honoring the contributions of its employees in achieving engineering excellence. The company’s Engineer of the Year awards recognize its most talented engineering professionals from each business group and division in the United States.

“AREVA Inc.’s engineering professionals are among the most talented in the industry,” said Mike Rencheck, president and CEO of AREVA Inc. “Our employees contribute to industry-wide safety and performance by developing improved designs and technology for U.S. nuclear power and renewable energy. We are honored to have the best engineers in the business helping to drive forward-looking energy.”

AREVA Inc.’s Engineer of the Year award recipients are nominated by their peers. Business group management and an independent internal committee representing all operations then select finalists based on their engineering contributions to both the company and their communities during the previous year.

Each year, one AREVA Inc. employee is chosen as the overall AREVA Inc. Engineer of the Year. For 2013, Kevin Elliott from the Front End Business Group was selected because he best exemplified a desire to drive AREVA Inc.’s innovation and growth, provided transversal support across the organization and displayed a strong customer-focused attitude. The complete list of this year’s Engineer of the Year winners by business group is below.

In celebration of National Engineers Week, AREVA Inc. has planned a variety of activities designed to honor its approximately 1,500 engineers nationwide, and to prepare tomorrow’s engineers by encouraging interest in science, technology, engineering and math careers.
