AREVA Inc. Completes Third Digital I&C Installation

CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 26, 2014 – AREVA Inc. successfully installed its TELEPERM® XS Platform digital Instrumentation and Control (I&C) system at a third nuclear reactor in the United States.
“Working closely with our customer, we safely completed the installation of the final unit of this digital I&C project to modernize the plant and improve reliability,” said Tom Franch, senior vice president of Reactors and Services, AREVA Inc. “AREVA’s system provides proven results in cost reduction for the utility and we’ve received positive feedback from operators about the operational efficiency of the TELEPERM® XS system.”
Incorporating lessons learned from the previous two installations, the AREVA team successfully supported the installation and testing of the third system ahead of schedule with no safety issues. These three installations are the only comprehensive digital I&C safety related systems operating in the United States.
