CHARLOTTE, N.C., August 26, 2014 – AREVA Inc. has signed a series of agreements for fuel fabrication, outage services, and used fuel management solutions for a major U.S. nuclear utility. These agreements represent an investment well in excess of $100M by the utility to achieve competitive power generation while meeting the ever-increasing safety requirements of the nuclear industry.
The contracts span AREVA’s entire nuclear portfolio, leveraging facilities and infrastructure the company has been aggressively investing in over the last several years, including the Technical Training Center in Lynchburg, Va., the fuel fabrication facility in Richland, Wash., and the used fuel storage manufacturing facility in Greensboro, N.C.
“Building on AREVA North America’s successful platform of operational excellence and innovation, AREVA is continually making strides toward greater customer alignment, particularly in regards to safe operations and on-time delivery,” said Gary Mignogna, president and CEO of AREVA Inc. “These agreements are important as they represent a long-term business commitment with a major, successful utility, and will provide a substantial amount of work for AREVA’s workforce and facilities over many years.”
