AREVA Inc Sharon Elliott Selected as One of STEMconnector 100 Diverse Corporate Leaders in STEM

CHARLOTTE, N.C., September 29, 2014 – AREVA Inc. today announced that Sharon Elliott, vice president of human resources for the company’s North American operations, has been selected by STEMconnector® as one of this year’s 100 Diverse Corporate Leaders in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). With this program, STEMconnector celebrates corporate leaders who made a difference by supporting STEM education throughout their careers, companies and industries.

AREVA Inc.’s coordinated investment and partnership in support of STEM education in Virginia includes the Lynchburg STEM Academy, the Central Virginia Community College Nuclear Technology Program, the PRODUCED in Virginia Program and the Explore Engineering Program at Sweet Briar College.
In Charlotte, N.C., where AREVA Inc. is headquartered, the company offers workforce training through partnerships with universities and community colleges, as well as the Energy and Production Infrastructure Center (EPIC) at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
