AREVA Inc. Awarded Long-term Contract by U.S. Utility FENOC for Integrated Outage Services

CHARLOTTE, N.C., January 13, 2015 – AREVA Inc. signed a contract with U.S. utility FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC) for outage, maintenance and engineering activities for the FENOC fleet primarily focused on the the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station in Ohio. The integrated outage services contract includes refueling, steam generator inspection, and materials degradation inspection and mitigation.
Beginning in 2015, AREVA will provide these services during the next three outages at the plant. In alignment with the Electric Power Research Institute’s Materials Reliability Program, AREVA will also perform nondestructive examinations of the pressurized water reactor’s components to ensure the materials’ integrity and to safely extend the reactor’s long-term operations.
