John Veysey accepts the awards from Crystal Carter and Roddie Shanely from Tri-County Partners Habitat for Humanity. The awards were a surprise given in front of AREVA Inc. leadership during a regularly scheduled presentation.

Richland, Wash., Jan. 30, 2015 – Tri-County Partners Habitat for Humanity presented AREVA Inc. with an award last week recognizing the company’s service to the local community. During the past 13 years, AREVA has sponsored home construction at the rate of about one every three years, while employees contributed more than 400 workdays of volunteer labor and completed more than 100 community projects.

AREVA employee John Veysey was honored with a special award in appreciation of his role in leading AREVA’s participation with the organization. In 2012, Veysey approached Habitat for Humanity and proposed that the organization participate in the IMPACT Day program, expanding the scope of Habitat’s service and AREVA’s support to include carpentry, plumbing, roofing and electrical repair projects for the elderly and disabled. A total of 94 IMPACT Day projects have been completed since then, nearly 30 of which were led by AREVA personnel.
