AREVA and Day & Zimmermann have teamed together for more than 20 years providing a broad spectrum of service, including design/procure/ build projects and plant modifications as well as maintenance, power uprates, outage services, and other large and complex projects and plant upgrades. ADZ was formed to provide a new paradigm in project execution for the nuclear industry, leveraging the breadth and depth of each partner and their position in serving the nuclear fleet.
Since 1994, AREVA and Day & Zimmermann have teamed up to provide:
- Engineering only solutions
- Task management with craft labor/field implementation
- Modification solutions to enhance plant performance and reliability
- Nuclear steam supply system piping, nozzle repairs, steam generator support, reactor piping system inspection and repairs, and a host of major plant modifications projects on safety and non-safety-related systems
ADZ takes great pride in creating a collaborative culture of teamwork to achieve high levels of performance for operating utilities. In an Engineering Alliance, we will evaluate plant issues and develop the right solutions with minimum owner oversight. Over the past 10 years, we have dedicated more than 1M man-hours to delivering solutions through our Engineering Alliances, and the concept has become a model for the U.S. nuclear industry.
ADZ embraces customer goals of schedule certainty, cost assurance, safety and quality, risk avoidance and teamwork while leveraging an innovative process for project planning. The process is based on industry lessons learned and the practices of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the Construction Industry Institute (CII), as well as outage management guidelines established by the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO).
