CHARLOTTE, N.C., August 10, 2016 – AREVA Inc. announces the appointment of Craig Ranson to the position of Senior Vice President of the Installed Base Services business unit in North America.

In this role, Ranson will lead AREVA’s continued development and delivery of innovative outage services, component upgrades, and engineering solutions to sustain and enhance the United States’ nuclear energy facilities.

Ranson follows George Beam, who will focus on targeted key strategic initiatives for both the U.S. and global organizations as he transitions to retirement at the end of 2016. Beam has been with the company for 33 years – 22 of those leading the services organization.

“George’s leadership and relentless focus on customers and their needs, and his ability to facilitate an effective response to emergent issues are well-known and respected throughout the industry,” said AREVA Inc. CEO Gary Mignogna. “Craig brings the same commitment and persistence to meeting the needs of our customers and challenges of the industry. He has a proven track record that is the foundation for strong business success.”

Ranson began his career with the company in 1991 as an intern, which led him to the services organization in 1992 with the steam generators and non-destructive examination (NDE) businesses. After leaving the company in 1997, Ranson returned in 2001 to what became AREVA Nuclear Services, performing operations and engineering work in the Outage and NDE Services group. In 2010, he was appointed Vice President of AREVA NDE Solutions and later as Vice President of Component Repair and Replacement Services. In 2014, Ranson was appointed Chief Operations Officer for AREVA Inc. He later served as interim Chief Commercial Officer before officially accepting the role in March 2016.

A graduate of Virginia Tech, Ranson holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. In addition, he graduated from the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations’ (INPO) Senior Nuclear Plant Management course (class 109).
