Spencer Abraham
Non-Executive Chairman of the Board
AREVA Inc. Prior to his appointment as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of AREVA Inc. in 2006, Spencer Abraham was the longest serving Secretary of Energy in U.S. history. Secretary Abraham distinguished himself by revitalizing and refocusing the Department of Energy on the new homeland security challenges our country faced.
His tenure as energy secretary was preceded by six highly effective years in the U.S. Senate, during which time Mr. Abraham authored 22 pieces of legislation signed into law. He also chaired two subcommittees: Manufacturing and Competitiveness and Immigration. Always on the cutting edge, he became a leading advocate for technological issues.
Mr. Abraham is currently the Chairman and CEO of The Abraham Group, an international strategic consulting firm that provides assistance for clients seeking opportunities on the U.S. and global markets.

Jacques Besnainou
President
AREVA Inc. Jacques Besnainou was appointed President of AREVA Inc. and President and CEO of AREVA NC Inc. on September 1, 2008. Mr. Besnainou holds Master of Science degrees in Mathematics, Engineering and Public Policy from Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole des Mines – France's top engineering schools. Mr. Besnainou, who became a U.S. citizen in 2005, has acquired nearly 20 years of management and systems engineering experience in both France and the United States.
Mr. Besnainou began his career in 1987 as a management consultant for a French investment bank but was shortly thereafter appointed as an advisor to the French Ministry of Industry for civilian nuclear affairs. In 1993, Jacques joined the Ecobilan Group, an environmental consulting firm specializing in life cycle assessments. He went on to form and develop Ecobilan's U.S. subsidiary successfully, and he relocated to the Washington, D.C. area.
After becoming the CEO of the Ecobilan Group, Mr. negotiated its sale to PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2000. Mr. Besnainou then joined COGEMA, Inc. (now AREVA NC Inc.) in 2001 as Executive Vice President, in charge of used nuclear fuel management operations in the United States. In 2005, Mr. Besnainou was appointed at the AREVA Nuclear Executive Committee in charge of the Back End sector.
Jacques Besnainou now lives in Bethesda, Maryland with his wife Isabelle and their three French-American children.

Gary Fox
Executive Vice President, Uranium Services and Products.Gary W. Fox is Executive Vice President, Uranium Services and Products of AREVA NC Inc. with overall responsibility for front end nuclear fuel marketing. He assumed his current position in 2001. From 1999 until 2001, Mr. Fox was Vice President, Marketing – Uranium Products and Services of AREVA NC Inc., responsible for marketing and sales of the Company’s uranium and toll enrichment services in North America. He joined AREVA NC Inc. in 1993.
Prior to joining AREVA NC Inc., he was Vice President, Marketing at Total Minerals Corporation, directing the company’s North American and international uranium marketing and sales for TOTAL’s US and Canadian mines, including the McClean Lake project. From 1979 to 1988, Mr. Fox was head of marketing for Eldorado Resources Limited’s uranium hexafluoride and uranium dioxide conversion services division. Mr. Fox received a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Toronto and a master’s degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of British Columbia. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from McMaster University and is a registered professional engineer.

ALAN HANSON
Executive Vice President, Technologies and Used-Fuel Management.Alan Hanson joined Transnuclear, Inc. in 1985 as Vice President for Engineering and Operations, and was elected President and CEO in 1987. Dr. Hanson began his career in 1975 with the Nuclear Services Division of Yankee Atomic Electric Company. In 1979, he joined the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria. At the IAEA, he served first as Coordinator of the International Spent Fuel Management Program and later as Policy Analyst with responsibilities for safeguards and non-proliferation policies. Alan Hanson received a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University and earned his Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is a member of the American Nuclear Society and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
